From branding to signage,we create informed placesthat connect with people.
Our team enhances projects through place making, branded environments, murals, signage, wayfinding, donors and exhibits. It’s more than just decorating a wall in a space; subtleties in design can have a considerable impact. A change in typeface can influence the mood, how patterns and colors get incorporated into the interiors and architecture can change the vibe, and an impactful graphic can inspire selfies.
We use design to transform avisit into an experience.

Drawing strengths from Aim's history, brand image, and reputation, the welcome center embodies a story wall to create a seamless, positive experience and foster a sense of belonging to new and current students, staff members, and community members. Upon walking in, the 200-foot-long wall captures the essence of Aims, combining technology and built-out interactive elements to create an experience inspiring all those entering campus.
The user-focused experience within the welcome center has significantly heightened awareness of the campus within the community. The space has become a hub for various events and activities, expanding its role beyond a traditional welcome facility. The Aims experience is holistically captured through eight key categories, each contributing to the rich tapestry of the institution: events and activities, school programs, student life on campus, physical campus locations, community through the town, arts and culture, alums, and history. Interchangeable elements were designed to evolve as the institution progressed. The living narrative reflects the college's ongoing journey, ensuring that its history is not confined to the past but continues unfolding with each chapter. This is seen in not only the use of technology within each category but also the ability to have interchangeable elements throughout the design.

A Living Legacy
We want something that summarizes holistically who we are and makes people say wow when they walk in. It needs to get students excited when they come to Aims Community College.

Transforming First Impressions
WELCOME CENTER, AIMS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Community colleges play a pivotal role in the American education system, offering accessible and affordable higher education options to diverse students. Compared to universities, community colleges are challenged to build a sense of community on the physical campus and keep students engaged. We kept the idea of’ building a sense of community’ at the center of the design to not only make the welcome center a functional space, but a transformative experience that leaves visitors with a positive and memorable impression of Aims. Additionally, we were challenged with incorporating flexibility throughout the entire scheme to accommodate changes and expansion of the installation to grow and adapt as the college continues to evolve.

Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve
BOWMAN HALL, MULLEN HIGH SCHOOL
The interpretive display at Mullen High School, located on the southwest edge of Denver, serves as a welcoming and educational focal point for students, faculty, donors, and other visitors. This college-preparatory institution emphasizes modernized Lasallian Catholic principles. The display celebrates the school's rich history from 1931 to the present, highlighting five distinct eras of change:
The Orphanage Farm Years The Boarding School Years The Boys’ High School Years The Centennial Years The Modern Years
Each era is presented with conceptual layers that highlight defining moments and showcase the academic and extracurricular successes of the school. The timeline is integrated into a two-story slated wood design, featuring overlapping wood slats that symbolize the cross, reinforcing the school's faith-based messaging.
A large mural with historical photographs and writings, along with the Signum Fidei symbol, strengthens the narrative of the school's beginnings and its connection to the future. Additionally, a dedication plaque at the entry features Craig Bowman, who exemplifies the Mullen motto, "Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve." This plaque enhances the exhibit’s narrative by showcasing the school's values and inspiring current and future generations.

ENCAPSULATED HISTORY
THURGOOD MARSHALL HALL, MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY
At Morgan State’s Thurgood Marshall Hall, a new residence hall and dining facility, Hord Coplan Macht had the honor of visually telling the story of the many facets of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Thurgood Marshall’s life throughout the building and surrounding landscape. We shared the story of his life’s milestones, his life’s work and his legacy in Maryland and even more specifically, Baltimore.
Working closely with Professor Larry Gibson, a renowned Thurgood Marshall historian and author, we developed exhibits and graphics to convey Marshall’s story from various angels. We used historic photography depicting the many civil rights cases he argued that have been incorporated as ‘found moments’ on each floor of the residential tower. In the main lobby we created a corten steel exhibit dedicated to ‘The Life of Thurgood Marshall’ which tells the story of his life, both personal and professional, throughout each decade. But the most unique item in the space is the two story portrait which was painted by one of the Morgan State University students, Alexandria Wingate, as her senior project.
In addition to the graphics that share the story of Mr. Marshall’s life and legacy, Hord Coplan Macht also designed a complex wayfinding and signage system that integrates into the interior design pallet of finishes and building architecture. The system included the exterior building signage identifying the campus and building itself, interior wayfinding and ADA room signage.
